The lighting of the original Bride of Frankenstein film was crafted with such innovative cinematography and dramatic values. They were so precise and dramatic in the moment "the Bride" first awakens that I wanted to emphasis those elements.
Digital paintings tend to be very smooth and clean, so I kept visible brush strokes, some unevenness, and blur to give a sense of movement and abnormality.
